      Hi,

I'm running 2.1.5-RELEASE (amd64) on an old Dell workstation.  It has an Intel Core2Quad processor, 2GB of RAM and is using only 1% of its 280GB+ hard drive.

Recently I've found that Sarg will only run for around ten minutes before stopping.  Restarting the server starts Sarg again, but lasts again for just ten minutes.  I know when this happens as the real time monitoring stops, and is timestamped up until that point.  The reports - of which I have one scheduled daily - stop too.

I am unsure of how to diagnose this problem as I don't have much experience Unix-type operating systems.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Thanks,

      Chris

          Thanks for the reply.

I tried rebooting the server and there appear to be quite a few problems with squid (look around the 10:06 mark below).  Sarg realtime reports do not work at all now.

Yeah, Squid looks borked.  You might want to try the 2.2-RC snapshot.  Updated Squid, SquidGuard, Sarg etc etc.

Any idea why Squid would just mess up like that?  The server hasn't been touched for months and it's taken time to get like this which suggests to me that it's done this to itself somehow with an ongoing process (Logs?  Cache?  Temp files maybe?). We all still have net access.  I wonder if I can clean it out and reinstall?

I'd be happy to try the 2.2RC at home, but here I'm a little more wary as we rely on pfsense for our business network.

              Thanks
