On box #1, I updated 2.15(amd64) to 2.2 (amd64).  I had the "Open-VM-Tools" package installed.  On every GUI session, it currently says "Packages are currently being reinstalled in the background.".  Ostensibly, the firewall itself seems to be working fine so far, despite this.

On box #2, I updated 2.2RC (amd64) to 2.2 release (amd64).  Everything seems to be OK.  Now, I had selected "Use memory file system for /tmp and /var" with default settings, and apparently there was not enough free space in /tmp to install "Open-VM-Tools" package, so it would give an error about possibly corrupt .PBI file.  Suggestion: re-advertise to the end-user about this setting, and/or perhaps automatically disable and force a reboot.  I would save a little bit of debug time (yes, mea culpa, but perhaps in other cases, a person inherits the config from a different admin, in which case save time hunting config problems)
