So I'm helping a friend of mine set up FreeRADIUS 2 on his PFsense box. He asked me to do the implementation of the packages, testing, etc…

I followed the instructions to install the FreeRADIUS 2 package at https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/FreeRADIUS_2.x_package,

and I began testing with the instructions followed to the letter at https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Testing_FreeRADIUS.

When I typed in the command "radtest testuser testpassword 127.0.0.1:1812 0 testing123" via SSH, I got the following error instead of normal output: "radclient: dict_init: Couldn't open dictionary "/usr/local/etc/raddb/dictionary": Permission denied"

I was wondering if there might be something that didn't get caught during beta testing the 2.2 release. If so how can we rectify it? Is the FreeRADIUS 2 package "unofficial?"

    Thanks,

EDIT: This is a FRESH install of pfSense 2.2

I installed and tested the FreeRADIUS2 package on 2.2 yesterday and it worked fine for me. Can you remove it and reinstall it again and test?

Also, what architecture? I tried it on amd64

It was on an amd64 box. But my friend did some tinkering with it and got it working.
