Generate email on match in system log?
-
So I just noticed today in the system log that PfSense does indeed report raid details about my PERC setup. Just enough to know if something went wrong.
I was wondering, is it possible to get PfSense to send an email if there is a match to what I'm looking for in my logs?
For instance if I see this…..
Jan 29 01:03:32 kernel: mfi0: 16980 (475837412s/0x0001/info) - VD 00/0 is now OPTIMAL Jan 29 01:03:32 kernel: mfi0: 16979 (475837412s/0x0001/info) - State change on VD 00/0 from DEGRADED(2) to OPTIMAL(3) Jan 29 01:03:32 kernel: mfi0: 16978 (475837412s/0x0002/info) - State change on PD 01(e0x20/s1) from REBUILD(14) to ONLINE(18) Jan 29 01:03:32 kernel: mfi0: 16977 (475837412s/0x0002/info) - Rebuild complete on PD 01(e0x20/s1) Jan 29 01:03:32 kernel: mfi0: 16976 (475837412s/0x0002/info) - Rebuild complete on VD 00/0
I'd like to get an immediate email. Of coarse in this situation this was the drive finishing its rebuild because I pulled the drive for a different reason but I found it interesting that it reported in the log of completion which made me think that maybe I can get emails on a match.
Any ideas?

We don't have that capability in pfSense, but if you send the syslog messages to a remote server, there are likely other dedicated monitoring packages that do support such notifications.
