Hello,
Today I ran into a very strange issue with my pfsense box. I had recently upgraded to version 2.2 and everything has been working normally without any apparent issues for several days. Today I decided to reboot my box (which I had already done a few times during and after the upgrade, without any issues) and when it finally booted up… no connectivity. I reboot it again, nothing. I get around to trying to access the console menu and I discover that for some strange reason my admin credentials no longer work (invalid login error message). I boot into single user mode and run the password reset procedure, nothing. It does not accept the default credentials nor does it accept those I configured when I initially set it up months ago. No devices connected to the router will obtain an IP.
At this point I'm beginning to see that I will have to rebuild the damn thing. If anyone has run into a similar issue and/or is able to provide me with some insight on this matter, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you.
Edit:
To add on to what I said above, I noticed something else when rebooting pfsense. I get an error similar to the following, multiple times, while booting up:Warning: chown(): Unable to find uid for nobody in /etc/inc/rrd.inc on line 935
I didn't see it initially because the screen scrolls pretty quickly on startup.

Additional info:
The router now started rebooting on its own, every 5-10 minutes.
Any takers??

Do a fresh install and restore the config backup.
