    How to create a local static IP that redirects to/from external dynamic IP

      Hello,

      I would like to have a local static IP address that I could communicate and have this translated to an external (WAN) dynamic IP address. I'm using a DynDNS service which I use to point to the dynamic IP address.

      I tried using a Firewall Alias, and tried a 1:1 NAT which doesn't work because 1:1 NAT doesn't accept Firewall Alias. I tried to see if Virtual IP helps me here, but I guess it is  used for 1:1 NAT. I tried normal NAT, which doesn't work because it translates to a single port which is not what I want.

      Is there a way to accomplish this?

      This would allow me to use a dynamic IP to services that require static IPs, like GRE.

        I don't think you can 1:1 a dynamic address.

        Look again though.  You can port forward a range of ports.

          Openvpn? Give the openvpn client non-routable ip and 1:1 on that ? At least it should work in theory.
