      hey there. i am proberly going to buy the Intel PRO/1000 PT Dual Port Server Adapter
      but i was wondering if it counts as one or two Ethernet interfaces? i have one in my MB and i need two more so i have wan - lan and dmz.

        The Intel PRO/1000 PT Dual Port Server Adapter does contain two gigabit ethernet ports so if you have another port on the motherboard you will have three network interfaces in total and the desired configuration with WAN, LAN and DMZ should be possible.

          i was just not sure if it was acting like a switch where the two ports will be on the same lan  ::) or it was separated into two interfaces so i  will get an re0 re1 re2 for an example.

            Nah, they actually show up as separate devices. Many multi-port NICs will have extra features, like mine will reduce the number of interrupts across all ports.
