      On Friday at around 9am, my Gateway Quality graph suddenly dropped from a steady 8ms to about 1.5ms.  But if I manually ping the gateway, either from a PC or from within pfSense (Diagnostics->Ping), it's still around 8ms.

      Did something change in pfSense about how it determines Gateway Quality?

          Yes, that bug sounds exactly like my problem.  I'll wait patiently for a fix.  Thanks for the help.

            I did determine that rebooting the ISP modem will temporarily fix this problem.  And I just updated pfSense to 2.2.1 the other day so I will see if this fix was included in the update.  I couldn't tell after reading through the changelogs.

              @newkansan:

              You can restart the apinger service instead of rebooting.

              The issue is not addressed in 2.2.1. Current bug status shows as targeted for 2.2.2.
