I was running pfSense at my colo. I had hard drive issues, so I had the datacenter people add a new drive and I asked them to reinstall pfSense for me.
Well it's turned into a nightmare. They kept failing. This all started at 4pm EST yesterday. Ugh.
Anyway, they've connected an usb kvm to the server and I tried to install but I get caught in a loop at boot with lots of errors about USB.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how I can get pfSense install remotely. I'm in Boston, my colo is just outside Chicago.

If I installed pfSense here on a pc and pulled the hard drive Could I put that drive into a totally different computer at the colo?
The server is a supermico with ipmi. Could I somehow attach to my ipmi via the web and install from the iso?

      Thank you

        Sounds painful.  :(

Can you post the errors you're seeing?
        What are you booting from?

I wasn't able to grab a screen shot. It was scrolling like a mutha. I was connected via their Lantronix usb kvm and keyboard strokes weren't being seen.
I was booting from a usb dvd with pfSense 2.2 in it. I've since had them disconnect the usb kvm as it cost money to use. Right now I might either

          1. Buy a used supermicro atom 1U configure pfSense and ship it to the colo
          2. Install pfSense on a spare computer pull the drive and ship the drive to colo, have techs install in in existing Supermicro server there.

The current supermicro server at the colo has ipmi. Could I have them connect that ipmi to the internet assign it an ip and attempt the install?
