      Hi,

      From what I can find pfSense likes the Intel Atom C2_58 processor. And from the hardware requirements, a 1.0 GHz Intel or AMD CPU can handle 100 Mbit/s.

      I've had my eyes on this machine:
      http://store.netgate.com/ADI/RCC-VE-2440.aspx

      But my question is if it can handle 100 Mbit/s through VPN aswell?

      Grateful for any suggestions.

        for 350$, you can make a faster machine.

        100mbs = about 12.5-13mb per sec

        even without aes ni,etc as per this-> http://uk.hardware.info/reviews/5156/30/amd-a10-7850k-kaveri-review-amds-new-apu-benchmarks-igpu-truecrypt-71-aes

        it should easily do 100mbs as even an old core 2 can do 10x that.

        why not go gigabyte celeron j with dual nic instead?

            So the RCC-VE 2440, could easily handle 100 Mbit/s through VPN (i plan on using OpenVPN). And possibly even more (if I ever get a faster connection)?

            The Shuttle DS57U looks interesting, but can it really handle 100 Mbit/s through VPN? I plan on using OpenVPN.

            My knowledge of hardware is average, but isn't Celeron old? Or are they just re-using the brand?

              For sure it can handle it, but as recommended to you it is also a very expensive solution.
