      Hi
Recently I got an alix apu board with 4Gb of memory and I installed the live version of pfsense and i selected the embedded kernel
I installed the pfsense on a 16Gb of msata and the automatic installation assigned twice the memory (8Gb) as swap
and the rest 6.8Gb as installed area of the pfsense.
I know that this configuration might wear the SSD faster but how likely that situation is?
Also can I fine tune this installation so I can avoid the further wear?
For example can I transfer all logs, read/writes and other write intensive  tasks to the SD card or to the USB. If after few years the USB or SD
are damaged I can easily replace them with a new one?
Can I disable the swap and assign it to the memory?
Any other modification that I can do?

Also if for some reason my SSD installation is damaged can I launch pfsense from a USB and load the same configuration file that I have on SSD?
      Thanks
