My router's hostname is pfsense22 and its domain NATO.local.

I'm curious to know why these do not resolve when I perform lookups:

      C:\Users\Ryan>nslookup
      Default Server:  UnKnown
      Address:  192.168.10.1

      >

Should this resolve instead of saying "Unknown"?

Depends on if it's configured properly.  What do you have for your Windows network settings, specifically DNS?

PC is using DNS from pfsense. In my case 192.168.10.1. There are no special configuration settings on the adapter.

Hmm, and that is not in conflict with entry [System: General Setup] ?

Where's 192.168.10.1 configured? Unless it's on LAN (literally, the interface assigned to lan), you need to add it to host overrides or whatever, won't be added to /etc/hosts.

Ohh, got it! – Many thanks! I added a host override in resolver for the static DNS entry (which worked). :)
