Dell T110 Error Install PFSense 2.2

  • Dear All,

I use Dell PowerEdge T110 machine. I can not install on  Harddisk Raid 1.
How to install Pfsense 2.2 ? Or This machine not support for PFsense 2.2.

    Thank you.

  • you could try if it'll work without the raid (disable it in the raid-cards "bios'). in worst case you could just use the onboard sata controller and try that.

once you can confirm that all the other hardware is working with pfsense, then someone might be able to find a solution to the raid issue.
does the raid work with freebsd 10.1 ?

  • Thank for your help.

I change Storage Controller to RAID, AHCI, ATA.
    It not work.

Please Extend and Sorry about my English not good.

  • @S.Apichit:

    Thank for your help.

I change Storage Controller to RAID, AHCI, ATA.
    It not work.

Please Extend and Sorry about my English not good.

Please try out AHCI, ATA, RAID

Please use only one HDD and not a RAID to install the pfSense 2.2

  • Thank for your reply But It doesn't work.
I try out ATA mode and Use one HDD.

  • Those Dell T110 servers have a crappy software RAID that's only supported by specific drivers (as I recall they only work with Windows OSes).  You'll have to configure your storage as JBOD and use BSD's GOEM to mirror the drives.

I ran into the same issue installing VMWare ESXi 5.5 on a T110.

  • Thank for Reply

Now. I change my plan about use Dell Computer to install PFSense.
I plan to buy new computer.

    My Idea.
1.) Use ASUS Mainboard and Intel Core i5 Gen 4 and Disable LAN on Board.
2.) Use Intel LAN Card (Gigabit) 2 card.
3.) Use HDD Sata III 1 TB.
4.) Use RAM DDR III 8 Gb.

If have your idea or problem please advice me. ^^

Ok that would be perhaps better!

    My Idea.

Buy something pfSense would be really matching.

1.) Use ASUS Mainboard and Intel Core i5 Gen 4 and Disable LAN on Board.

    150 € board + 150 € CPU = ~300 €

2.) Use Intel LAN Card (Gigabit) 2 card

    ~50 €

3.) Use HDD Sata III 1 TB.

    ~70 €

4.) Use RAM DDR III 8 Gb.

    ~100 €

If have your idea or problem please advice me. ^^
