      Good evening,

It's my first post so hello to you all! I'm currently learning my way around pfSense and what a fine too it is!

I have a slight problem with my setup, in which, I have installed an additional Intel Dual NIC card however there system isn't responding as it should be. No data is transmitted between the NIC and WAN etc.

      I have looked here - https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Tuning_and_Troubleshooting_Network_Cards#Intel_igb.284.29_and_em.284.29_Cards

However, I'm not an expert so I'm unsure how to edit the bootloader.

      Could somebody possibly help me?

      Thanks :)

Is the actual NIC not functioning or just that you can't get access to the upstream network on devices connected to it?

        Steve

Why not boot to Linux and have a try first?

            The latter.

The devices receive DHCP lease but no access to anything else.

I figured it could be a firewall rule however, as a test, I allowed a rule anything out however, no internet at all.

As the second connection on this card would be used for secondary WAN connection, I tried to unplug existing connection (that works) and (with the same settings), I plugged it into the second WAN connection but had no service.

            Could you shed any light?

            Thanks

If you are receiving a DHCP address then the card is connected and recognised no problem.
If you've added a firewall rule to the new interface to allow all the only other thing that can prevent outgoing traffic working is if you're switched outbound NAT to manual and then not added the required rules.

Righto, I'll give that a look later.

I've switched to Hybrid actually (you'll see reasons why in a DM is sent you).

                Thanks :)
