      Hello,
I was looking for a powerful mini PCI-E wifi card that I would use for AP. I am looking for 2.4 and 5GHz that works the best pfsense. This was one of the recommended ones from the pfsense documentation: http://www.amazon.com/Compex-WLE200NX-802-11n-802-11a-Wireless/dp/B00527XI28/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1427345170&sr=1-1&keywords=WLE200NX

Please let me know. I'll check with the board vendor if it is compatible.
      Here is my board: http://www.ebay.com/itm/111001934729?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

      Thanks!

        Hello,

the Compex card is really still rocking and sufficient enough, but an other one thats
serving high throughput is the following one, Ubiquiti SR71-E is running out of the box
and is also be used for running as an WiFi AP! Ok nearly double the price of the Compex
but still impressing connectivity. Don´t forget to buy also antennas that are sending in the
2,4 GHz and 5 GHz radio band!

I am thinking of buying Ubiquiti SR71-E antenna if it works great with pfSense as AP. I am wondering what would be the best antenna to buy for this NIC? that is preferably 5.0 GHz that would be awesome. There's plenty online but a lot of junk, I'd rather pay more then have a crappy antenna.
I am looking for the indoor antenna. I found one but this is 2.4 GHz 8dBi http://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-TL-ANT2408C-Desktop-Omni-directional-Magnetic/dp/B0034CQSKW

I'll be running radius server for the AP later on, I'd like something decent.

          Thanks!

Damn those are huge. I have two of those: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0034CQSKW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

the antennas is not what's the problem. The problem is with the speed of wifi connection even when I am one foot away from AP. I'm getting all bars.

Get a purpose-built wireless access point.

High-Performance Mini PCI-E wifi cards don't exist.  At least not in FreeBSD.
