I'm new to pfsense and still trying to figure it out the problem i'm running into is my download speed is half of what it should be I'm getting 2Mb/s down and 1Mb/s up when it should be in the area of 5Mb/s down and 1.5Mb/s up when i first got everything setup and ran the first speed test I had the full download speeds the second test I got the 2/1 and I didn't change any settings and then started messing/testing different configurations with no change in speeds what I've done so far check cables, disconnected/bypass my router that was changed to an AP, change duplex speeds of both nic's,checked to make sure there wasn't an IP addressing or submask problem.  I'm using MSI A88XI AC motherboard with AMD A4 7300 cpu, 4Gigs ram, and a TP-link gigabit pci express nic as the second network card.  is there something I'm over looking? or might not have done right? I cant figure it out and any help or advice would be greatly appreciated to solve this problem thanks in advance.

Debugging pfSense sounds like a total waste of time to me, sorry. Talk to your ISP about what you are really supposed to get. Stuff like "I got the full speed first time I tried" seems like they have heavy traffic shaping in place with a burst configured to fool customers.

well that is a possibility but before switching to pfsense (last night) I was using Asus Rt-AC87u and ran the speed test for a base line and have always and never really had an issue with the speeds as advertised but i highly doubt it's an ISP problem but non the less ill look into it.

Even a total lowend junk like an Alix with 256MB of RAM and 100Mbit NICs at stock configuration can do a lot better than 2/1Mbps. You are hunting ghosts here.

The AUSUS RT-AC87u is running a tiny Linux kernel optimized for this hardware, and this is not
matching the pfSense platform, because this is more optimized to run on many platforms as possible
but by using adequate hardware the pfSense would bring more capabilities, features, options and functions then the ASUS would be ever own. And a very old Alix or Soekris net5501 platform is
also able to push something at 47 MBit/s IPSec AES128 CBC over the VDSL line!

For SPI & NAT you will normally loose 3 - 5 % from the entire throughput and what ever you where
configuring on top is also taking some some more % from the rest throughput!
