I'm located in Australia.
I am trying to locate a suitable system to replace my current setup.
I am looking for the following hardware specs (or suitable alternatives):

Dual Core Atom 1.6-2Ghz

4x Intel Gigabit NIC (either onboard or using a riser)

form factor preferably of 3.5" SBC or Mini-IX/Pico-ITX

unfortunately thats a quadcore. supermicro doesnt have a c2358 micro-atx chipset yet.

Hm, the pfSense SG-xx box must be shipped to Australia too and the the Supermicro board

But equivalent Supermicro boards are at the same cost, with no premium support for one year
and the pfSnese is not pre installed! And RAM comes also on top of the total cost by going
with Supermicro parts!!!Ok if you especially search something that is
directly to buy in "au" to narrow down the cost and save the transportation fee + VAT

I am from Australia too, but whenever I look around to buy something locally it never works out. Yawarra have various systems - Alix, APU, net-5501 Soekris stuff, but their prices are completely off the planet (IMHO). In the end buying from the USA and getting it shipped to Oz turns out the best - both for price and choice/availability of exactly what you want.
What to do? Open a pfSense partner business in Australia to sell the gear locally? Hold a referendum to make Oz the 51st state ;) -

Yes although there was already plenty of other services (generally in the US already) catering to this market. Shipito and comGateway are a couple.
Australian dollar has dropped significantly in the last 6 months or so too making items from the US quite a bit more expensive.
All that said, I'm not sure how cheap the original poster expects/wants this to be. What's your budget?
$50 shipping whilst not super cheap isn't the end of the world if paying say $350 for a router.
I don't quite know how USD$350 + USD$50 shipping + SSD (unknown value) becomes US$572. I get USD$530 shipped to Australia including the 128GB mSATA SSD (a similar item could be purchase locally cheaper most likely)
Maybe look at some of the Chinese stuff on AliExpress if budget is really tight? Should be able to get something into Australia for AUD$3-400 + SSD (Edit: maybe not Intel NICs)

Yes, i was looking at the msata SSD also, but as the AUD is weak to the USD at the moment, it equals to $732 AUD, way too expensive for its use.
I've used the Alix2.2 & Alix6 boards for clients, and while they have suited for those clients, currently these will not suit.
Can anyone offer any suggestions for full systems or board-only that can handle either SATA or MSata to use a SSD, a low dual core processor (could be around 1Ghz), included RAM is not needed, but needs either 4 gigabit NICs, or a single onboard with a PCi-E slot to use for lower than $300 if possible.

Alix APU systems are also there in the portfolio and also much cheaper.
