Mounting options for ADI RCC-VE units?
-
I'm looking at a batch of the Netgate Rangeley RCC-VE units for upcoming projects. Problem is I don't see that there are any mounting holes anywhere on the case. Ideally I want to be able to wall- or rack-mount these. I noticed in the PDF from ADI Engineering (http://www.adiengineering.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/RCC-VE-Platform-User-Manual-R100.pdf) on pp.6 there is mention of a "…19in rack mount enclosures that will be available"
Anyone know where to purchase this or if it exists? Or, has anyone tried to modify the case that it ships with to add some sort of mounting holes etc? Would this void the warranty?
Thanks guys :)

Why you don´t mail them and ask there?
If they offers a 19" rack mount version of this case, that is not shown in the normal
shop assortment, it could be that you must ask them for getting one. -
I have emailed them, waiting to hear back now - if anyone else is interested I will update this thread.

Yes it would be interesting me really, but on the other side I would insert a shelf plate and place
the pfSense Appliance on it, this would not the best solution but also it is stable. -
I did get a reply back from ADI - I hope I am not overstepping by sharing what I heard:
-
Netgate will be hopefully selling rackmount cases for the RCC-VE (SG) units sometime in the next few months
-
If you have a deep enough pocket you can purchase these from ADI as well but you are not going to be able to order 1, 5 or even 50 – we are talking thousands+ as a minimum order
So for now, a shelf it is and I'll just keep an eye for new announcements from Netgate ;)

Ok for the Alix APU I have found here in Germany one shop, selling a 19" rack mount unit.
Perhaps they are willing to customize the front panel? I don´t really know. -
I forgot to mention - the friendly gentleman from ADI did tell me that the mainboard is a standard mini-ITX form factor, so many 3rd party 1U cases could/should work. I have not done much research in this area yet but I'm sure there are some good options.

There will be a 19" rack mount unit sold via Netgate and the pfSense store, but it may be ~June or so, and it's only going to be the high end model (8860, 8 core, 8GB RAM, 6 ports). The other units should sit nicely on a rack shelf.
I'd be wary of ANY alternate cases for an APU. It's very picky about heat dissipation. Netgate had to design a special shelf for that.

The SG-8860 1U variant is available now:

There will be a 1U 4860 coming soon.
