DHCP Relay over OpenVPN
-
Hello,
Looking for info on doing a relay from my remote sites to main site. Tried doing the relay over WAN side and never does get an address over the VPN.
The scopes are setup on the SBS at the main site. VPN's are up and functioning properly, just needing to see if pfsense can do the relay over the tunnel.
Thanks

Services > DHCP Relay ??

Doesn't work over the VPN, already tried. Firewall and openvpn logs show nothing.
-
Then I guess not. What about your switch?
-
Switch is unmanaged. Maybe it would be best to post in the openvpn forum as I don't see this going anywhere here.

Did you assign an interface to your OpenVPN instance? Shot in the dark but it might make a difference.
We also don't know what you've actually done since you've posted no details.

The VPN wouldnt connect without selecting an interface.
I have OpenVPN instances to remote offices. They work perfect and have no issues. I would like to run dhcp relay back to the sbs at the main office. I have the scopes setup on the sbs already, however doing dhcp relay over LAN or WAN will not work.
This is an active directory environment and having dhcp and dns being served from the sbs to all workstations is what I need to have proper DNS functionality

No. Search on OpenVPN assigned interface. It has to do with assigning an OpenVPN instance to a pfSense interface for the purposes of NAT, etc.
