I have tried this several times with no luck.

      pfSense 2.2.1
did a backup of the config.
Did not include the RRD data.

The box only had pfblockerng installed.

      Replaced the hard drive.
      Installed pfsense.
From the web interface I did a restore.
      Selected to restore all.
      The box reboots.
It gets to the configure firewall and it hangs.
This is where it hangs every time.
I tried to before and it hang.
Used the Gold subscription backup and restore and it hangs.

      I reinstalled the pfsense.
      Installed pfblockerng.
      Restored configuration.
Same problem, hangs in same place.

Cant get it to move pass that point.
I waited for over 20 minutes but no luck.

      Started over.
only restored dhcp and openvpn and that worked.

Its a bit concering that I can't get this to work.
Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong or how to make this work.
At this point I dont have a way to backup the box.

Just wait… it did not hang. It's waiting for timeout. 1 minute per pfBNG alias.  ::)

          Really?

It can that more then 20 minutes to get pass this section when you restore?
5 minutes to replace the hard drive.
          5 minutes to reinstall pfsense.
20+ minutes waiting for time outs?

          Will try it again.

Yeah, really… these insane timeout values are a complete disaster. No idea why it's not been fixed yet.

I tried it again and it worked.
Not sure how long it took since I left the room.

Its the 3rd time I posted about this and you are the first one mentioning this.
              I really appreciate it.

              Thanks.
