Hello all, have a strange situation here.

I’m familiar with a reasonable amount of pfSense, but I had a local guy install it for me a couple of years ago as I didn’t know it in a multi-vLan situation that well.

What we ended up with was a multi-vLan version of pfSense that was CARPed.
Currently on version 2.0.1-RELEASE (amd64).  It is OpenVPNed for my remote access.
Now I did try and auto-Update it a few months ago – but that failed totally and Al managed to rescue us back to 2.0.1.

Now, this version is acting a bit strange!!  Such as -

      • I am getting a Sync Settings Authentication error in the top right.

Whenever I try and make any changes to settings, it doesn’t seem to make them and locks me out for a bit of time – yet it is still working in the background properly, so it isn’t crashing.  Is this because it can’t CARP them?

Al and I were going to update it over the next few days – but, that’s no longer possible as he passed away a month ago.  I don’t have his notes for the settings either!!  But I can login and have full access to the settings.

Would a fresh update to the latest version ‘fix’ things like a CARP authentication error?  Or do I need to fix this first?  I know that I NEED to have an install CD for 2.0.1 and a backup of the settings available when I try and do an auto-Update (which I was thinking of doing next weekend – as it is a bank holiday in the UK) in-case it goes wrong.

      Any help or advice?
