Hi. I cannot get pfsense to pass data off the WAN. I had to put it back on the pppoe to get internet.

I was given an IP address and subnet which i used on a laptop to test the Metronet and it worked fine to that one machine.

Went to the Pfsense box, changed the WAN interface to static and assigned an IP above the one i was given and set the gateway IP to the number i was given and subnet.

i.e … 192.168.10.11 as the WAN ip and for the Gateway 192.168.10.10

I left the LAN alone as it worked fine if the WAN was doing PPPOE.

Not getting any internet access at all.

      Any help would be appreciated.

Try using the IP you were given.

I actually did … Since i am not afraid of being hacked ill just walk through it.

I am assigned 173.206.186.145 for the gateway device.. behind that is .144 ...... my LAN i use 192.168.10.xxx
Thats why i said i went above it ... the interface is not where i assign the number i was given is it? That is the number of the gateway device. Thats how i got on it with the laptop. It worked fine to the laptop. Cant do the same thing once its on the pfSense box.

Interfaces: WAN is where both the assigned static IP address and the gateway IP address are configured.

The CIDR network (mask bits) must also be set correctly.
