Quick question to stop me running off down a blind alley…..

debug.pfftpproxy according to the Gold book:
You can configure the FTP proxy to attach on other ports by setting the system tunable
debug.pfftpports to another value. By default it is simply 21, but if you set it to "21 2121" it
would be active on both ports 21 and 2121.

I just saw a thread that said it was just 0 for ON and 1 for OFF.

Can anyone clarify which is correct?

      thanks

Which pfSense version are you running?
That setting only applies to versions before 2.2.X.
The default value has sets the ftpproxy ON. Setting to debugging to 1 disables the proxy. In pfSense 2.1.X.

Edit: Looking at your other posts it seems you're running 2.2.X in which caes the ftp proxy is not available.

Thanks Steve - it was a blind alley as I am trying to get an obscure FTP client working to a server behind pfsense rather than the other way round, which is what this option affects….
