Have pfSense 2.0.1 which is just brilliant.

Going to update it to version 2.2.2 tomorrow - but hit a major question!!  It is two boxes that are CARPed together.  If I log on to the shared address, can I update it from there, or do I need to use the direct accesses to each box and update each one separately?

take a look at a few of the other threads here.
there seems to be an issuse that the ugtade does not reboot the device

if you are not able to have physical access, you may have a problem

there is also an issuse that was possibly fixed with limmiters and carp setups
if you are using limmiters, you may want to hold off.

we seemed to hqlace encountered both issuses.

Thanks.  Thinking I might stay with 2.0.1 for a while.  I think I know why we're having slight issues with it.  Somehow, the second box has a different password.  That means the two aren't working in CARP.

I have a monitor and keyboard in the Comms Room and, I believe I can change the password easily with those.

If I do upgrade, I'll try and image the disks first.  Have bought some 8Gb Kingston USB sticks for that and got a copy of Clonezilla from Tuxboot.
