NRPE not functioning right.

I am trying to get NRPE to communicate with my Nagios server hosted separately. When i check the logs, I see the below output for it.
May 8 10:24:28 nrpe[84451]: Daemon shutdown May 8 10:24:28 nrpe[84451]: Cannot remove pidfile '/var/run/nrpe2.pid' - check your privileges. May 8 10:24:28 nrpe[84451]: Caught SIGTERM - shutting down... May 8 10:23:25 check_reload_status: Syncing firewall May 8 10:08:36 nrpe[84451]: Allowing connections from: 192.168.11.5 May 8 10:08:36 nrpe[84451]: Listening for connections on port 0 May 8 10:08:36 nrpe[84451]: Warning: Daemon is configured to accept command arguments from clients! May 8 10:08:36 nrpe[84451]: Server listening on 0.0.0.0 port 5666. May 8 10:08:36 nrpe[84451]: Server listening on :: port 5666. May 8 10:08:36 nrpe[84451]: Starting up daemon
I am also trying to figure out how i can get the arguments that the different plugins will accept. the one i am interested in is the check_ifstatus. I use a slightly modified version of this one for my switch and other network gear. The name of that plugin is check_snmp_ifstatus.pl Any help with this is very much appreciated.
