Developer Shell Question

I'm setting up a system with 4 LAN ports going to 4 separate networks internally.  I'm using the developer shell to switch network DHCP and IP which is working fine with the exception the PFSense has to reboot each time to change the LAN settings.  Is there something I can do instead of "system_reboot_sync();" in the recordings that doesn't reboot the PFSense each time it starts a new recording and will update the LAN interface.
