XML error: no packagegui object found!

  • I have pfsense 1.2 with an issue I can not seem to resolve. I noticed that phpsysinfo was broken, every time I clicked on the WebConfigurator link phpsysinfo I receive the following error: "XML error: no packagegui object found!". I thought, this will be easy to solve, I will reinstall the package. I proceeded with the following steps: 1) Reinstall though the WebConfigurator. The WebConfigurator returns the following error: "XML error: no packagegui object found!". Then I proceeded to remove, same error. I also proceeded to Reinstall the package GUI Components, same error. Looks like there is a file missing that stops the process? How do I get past this error so I can reinstall the package? Can I log into the console and remove the package manually? Thanks!

  • Download the config.xml from diagnostics>backup/restore. Edit it with a texteditor that can handle the unix specific textfile (like http://pspad.com). Strip out the section for that package, save and reupload it again (pfSense will reboot). Now pfSense won't know that this package was ever installed. Try to reinstall it. Also make sure your pfSense is on the latest version when working with packages.

  • Strange, did you try a reboot because it's mostly php files in that package.

This makes complete sense and is the solution to my problem. Thinking out of the box! Thank you for the quite response.
