      Hi guys,

I am a pfSense newbie and made my first mistake with my new SG-4860.

I assigned a VPN client to the LAN interface (changed the physical port to the VPN) and lost access to the router.

All the other ports are disabled so I can't use them at the moment. I tried accessing from the WAN but that is blocked to private IP addressees.

I come from Tomato routers so I have no idea how to solve this issue with pfSense. I have the USB cable if that helps.

How can I get back in?

      Thanks

You can re-assign the interfaces using the serial console menu. It roll back the last config change that locked you out.
Just connect the console using the USB cable.

I installed the CP2104 USB to UART Bridge Controller driver from Silicon Labs https://www.silabs.com/products/interface/usbtouart/Pages/usb-to-uart-bridge.aspx on both Mac and Windows.

I followed all the instructions from the manual but nothing showed up on the Terminal/Console window after striking the Enter key several times, just a # symbol.

I realized I had to type "login" in order to get to the pfSense console.

          Thanks!

Interesting, I usually type 'exit' if that happens to get back to the menu. Could be you can enter anything there. I'll have to try it.
I've only seen that happen if the console is connected after boot by the way.
