      Greeting fellow pFsense-inites!

I have been running pfsense on an old mini-pc i had laying around, and absolutely LOVE the performance increase, firewalling ease of use, and overall routing performance.  However, it's too big to run all day in a SOHO environment, so, i stepped up and bought two Jetway mini-itx's:  one for office one, and one for office 2.  Here's the link to these beauts:  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16856107154 .  I purchased some larger SSD's, and 8 gigs of RAM for each box.

Problem is, office two has ADSL.  right now, i have a netgear firewall/router/WAP running the entire show (modem and all), and i want to use that as a WAP only…plus, i want the throughput performance of the Jetway box, since it has a much nicer CPU and RAM config.

Here's the kicker:  the jetway comes with 5 intel gig NICs.  i do, however, have another sata connection, plus a pci express connection, both available to use in the box.  I'm still within neweggs return period, so returning it shouldn't be a problem.  But, i really like this box, and if there is a compatible ADSL pci-x card out there supported by pfSense, then i would like to go that route IF that's what others think.  Where office two is, ADSL may not be around much longer (talks of Cable and Fibre coming out there soon), and thus is why i'd like to keep the current box, and just slam a ADSL PCI-X card in it for the modem portion of the router.

i guess the alternative would be to purchase a dedicated dial-up modem, but i've had crappy luck with the ones i've got.

      Suggestions?

Get a DSL modem, put it in bridge mode, and plug it into your pfSense WAN port.  Like T1 cards, I don't know of any ADSL modem cards directly supported by pfSense.

Your only option for an ADSL card is something like the Sangoma card which is in fact an ADSL router just on  PCI card.

I don't think I've ever seen anything for PCIe. And FYI PCI-X is not PCI express so that could easily cause confusion.  ;)
