No, sorry. Not willing to download and install malware. Try https://forum.filezilla-project.org/ for further Filezilla questions.

Beyond that, the ftp client proxy is transparent, as such requires no configuration in the client.

Since when was filezilla malware?  Yes someone has created a lookalike malware version but I don't think the actual and real filezilla should be painted with the same brush.

            @FlashPan:

            Since when was filezilla malware?

That shit is distributed from SourceForge wrapped into SF's malicious junk with the consent of Filezilla authors (in sharp contrast to projects such as Gimp, nmap, VLC etc. which were hijacked by SF) who cash a share on the money and sweep any complaints under the carpet on the forum).

            Caveat emptor.

Fair enough SF is doing something not great, but still that's not filezilla.  Take your beef up with them.

Really don't think profanity is required to get your point across either.

              Cui Bono?

Am bored of this now already.

NO! This is a part of OPT-IN by Filezilla authors. As said above. The filezilla guys cash on this shit - and link to the shit from their website. Period.

You can download the non malware version with the nowrap option

                  http://sourceforge.net/projects/filezilla/files/FileZilla_Client/3.11.0.2/FileZilla_3.11.0.2_win64.zip/download?nowrap

if you add /download?nowrap you get it without their crap.

Well I frankly have zero desire to download anything from SF and would suggest everyone to avoid it. Projects are running away from that site; if your favourite project still has not moved, contact the maintainers and if they are unwilling to do the same, you'd better find an alternative. Similar practices must not be tolerated.

Also don't intend to use software whose authors earn their money by wrapping utter junk around their installers. Trust completely lost in both cases.

Same goes for stuff like uTorrent - starts with GUI advertising, continues with insane level of advertising and ends up with bundling bitcoin miners. Pure evil. Similar junk needs to be avoided.

I agree not a fan of adding shit to make money - if you don't want to give your stuff away free - then don't, charge a reasonable price for it.. I would much rather pay a few bucks for software I like than have to deal with clicking no don't install opencandy, etc etc.  winscp use to be a great product then thought he could get away with installing opencandy..

What SF is doing is just plain wrong no matter how you look at it..

If filezilla needs some money then they should ask for donations or charge a few bucks.. How much money could they possible get from this crap?  Why not just ask people for that amount up front other than dealing with that nonsense..  I would for sure pay a few bucks for filezilla vs having to worry if it has crap in it or not.

Sounds like the shit (extreme amount of) has finally hit the fan after they've attempted to "mirror" Mozilla Firefox. Just a couple of days later, no more "mirrors". (Knowing how much pain it is dealing with Mozilla Foundation regarding trademarks even when the goal is utterly legit, such as shipping some distro-specific patches with FF – SF must be run by completely clueless idiots.)

NFC. Perhaps they get money per botnet node?  ::)

Just push them towards WinSCP and be done with it.  And as for uTorrent, qBittorrent for the win.
