After upgrading to the latest release my PPPoE connection no longer obtains a valid IPv4 address even though it shows connected.  If anyone is able to help me work through this on the command line to determine the cause I'll submit a proper bug report.

After restarting all equipment including the DSL modem (on a hunch) pfSense was able to get an address.

Me too. Same problem, same fix.

For what it's worth, I have PPPoE at home and upgraded yesterday while testing the release and there were no problems here. It linked back up immediately after boot.

+1. IMO this is the old regressed HW specific issue that's been there ever since 2.2 and ever before 2.1.5.
