      Hi

I was wondering if anyone had some experience running pfSense on the Jetway JBC311U93 NUC. I would have picked one up and tried it myself, but I can't find anyone selling them in Norway or any country nearby. Buying one from the US and shipping it to Norway would be a very costly endeavor due to VAT and the extra cost associated with returning it if it turned out to be incompatible.

I plan on using it as a firewall with a 100/20Mb internet connection and probably using it to set up some VLANs and run as a VPN server. So basically it's for home use and not an enterprise/corporate solution.

      Any help is appreciated :)

I bought one, but ended up sending it back because it got stuck in a boot loop and wouldn't make it 2 seconds past the BIOS. I probably just got a lemon, but the specs are good for a 100/20 connection. I'm now running nearly identical hardware on my 125/25 connection and there's hardly any CPU usage.

Thank you. Now I can return it if it won't work :)

I will be sure to report my findings when I get my hands on one. Hopefully it was just a dud :)

I am considering the Jetway, how did it work out for you?

On of the best board from Jetway to run pfSense on.
Perhaps not in the same price range as the NUC, but powerful enough for 1 GBit/s WAN and Snort on top.

Frank I bought myself an early Christmas gift. Got to say the Jetway line is looking good. I had trouble picking which board I wanted. Luckily I work in a Machine Shop and was able to fab a case for this rig:

The stock Jetway case has too much extra space for me…I want compact. Plus it was 70 dollars more.

4 igb0 plus 3 pci-e slots. I have a hand held server in the works...

How about Intel "Driver  Health" I spotted in the BIOS on the Jetway???

                    Never heard of it?

                    Maybe an ethernet watchdog?
