Hardware shopping

I have been try to do some h/w searching for a new box for the company I work for. I came across a good deal on a x3455 IBM Server with an opteron 2210 1gb ram. I found a bsd users group out of New York that post up dmesg info for the hardware that people have tried to boot FreeBSD. The dmesg is located here. From what I saw … it seems that it should run just fine. I did search and found the nics in the h/w compatibility list but was not able to find anything else on the h/w in this machine. If someone else would look this over to help me confirm, I would greatly appreciate your help!
TIA! ;)

Should work fine. It's a dmesg of a 6.2 box and pfSense 1.2 is based on 6.2.

so you don't think that the acpi bus is going to be an issue?

I've seen those sort of messages on other systems. I think you can safely ignore them. If they worry you, you can boot without ACPI enabled and you won't see them, but you will probably have only one CPU running. (The ACPI information tells the OS how CPUs are present, interrupt routing etc etc.)
Alternatively, the BIOS might give you the option of saying you want "mptables". If the BIOS provides "mptables" you should see any additional CPUs that are present.
I'd suggest "don't worry, be happy!"
