      Hi!

I use an APU1D4 board (AMD dual core, 4 GB, 16 GB mSATA miniPCI, Atheros 5418 miniPCI).

      I installed the system using

      pfSense-memstick-serial-2.2.3-RELEASE-amd64.img.gz

from an USB stick to mSATA (tried both custom and quick option).

      But…

If I boot the system from that USB stick into the Live CD system or boot from another USB stick directly using pfSense-2.2.3-RELEASE-4g-amd64-nanobsd.img.gz

my wifi card is recognized during boot and as device:

      pcib5: <acpi pci-pci="" bridge="">at device 21.0 on pci0
      pci5: <acpi pci="" bus="">on pcib5
      ath0: <atheros 5418="">at device 0.0 on pci5
      ath0: [HT] enabling HT modes
ath0: [HT] RTS aggregates limited to 8 KiB
ath0: [HT] 2 RX streams; 2 TX streams
      ath0: AR5418 mac 12.10 RF5133 phy 8.1
      ath0: 2GHz radio: 0x0000; 5GHz radio: 0x00c0

If I boot from the system installed on the mSATA 16 GB instead, the wifi card is not recognized.

      pcib5: <acpi pci-pci="" bridge="">at device 21.0 on pci0
      pci5: <acpi pci="" bus="">on pcib5
      pci5: <network, ethernet="">at device 0.0 (no driver attached)

I also tried both kernels offered on installation, the standard and the no video/no keyboard (which makes sense as the APU1D4 has neither), but same result.

Any hints for me? How can I get the driver to the mSATA?

I managed it later, but I had to reconfigure the device and issued at "reset to factory defaults" from the serial console menu… and the wifi adapter was gone again.</network,></acpi></acpi></atheros></acpi></acpi>
