Vnstat2 spamming
-
Hi folks,
a problem with vnstat2.
Original setup was 3 NIC ports (em0, em1, em2). em0&1 were onboard nic's and em2 was an additional NIC (single port) that I installed.
I had to remove the NIC and install a 4 port NIC. Now the NIC ports on the new card are called igb0->3.
Since em2 does not exist anymore, vnstat2 is sending me emails via cron:
X-Cron-Env: <shell= bin="" sh="">X-Cron-Env: <path= etc:="" bin:="" sbin:="" usr="" sbin="">X-Cron-Env: <home= var="" log="">X-Cron-Env: <logname=root>X-Cron-Env: <user=root>Error: Unable to get interface "em2" statistics.</user=root></logname=root></home=></path=></shell=>
I uninstalled the package and reinstalled, but no luck. how can I reset vnstat2, so it will not look for em2 anymore.
vnstat2 did recognize the new interfaces and is working good otherwise.
Thanks a lot!

Try to run command 'vnstat -u' in the terminal and check if it returns the error you are seeing. Delete files .em2 and em2 under /cf/conf/vnstat folder if they are there.

Hi,
sorry for the late reply.
I have not tried the command that you suggested, however, I had deleted the suggested em2 files (it did not fix it).
However, I had to update vnstat2 and that fixed the problem.
Thanks.
