Unable to install packages. Stop at extracting

I am running the 4GB nanobuild, i have expanded the /var and /tmp directories to 250mb. Made sure file system was read/write, but it seems most package installs completely hang at the extracting portion of the install. I have waited for probably 30 minutes plus and it never changes. IE stops spinning, and when i go to see installed packages any package i try shows up as installed, but isn't in the GUI and i can reinstall the gui portion and it still doesn't appear.

Go to Diagnostics - NanoBSD and make it permanently read-write.
