• This is not a hardware question per se, but I feel I need to give some recognition to the folks that work at Netgate, for the excellent customer service.  I have a customer with a firewall that has blown up.  It's Friday, 4:00 PM CST, AND Fedex has come and gone.  I call and talk to Netgate's sales department and explain my situation.

    The long and the short of it is I'm getting this customer's firewall replaced tomorrow.  Netgate stepped up, and will help make me look like a rockstar to my customer.

    The moral of the story is to consider where you get your hardware from.  You can run pfSense on almost any commodity hardware, but having a vendor that will bend over backwards on a Friday when you have a customer with a broken firewall is worth it's weight in gold.
