Hey guys i have been with PF for over a year now and love the system!! Great work Guys!

if i could ask for some help i am working also with FreeNas and that is a BSD System. what i need some help with is installing openvpn so i can just fire that thing up and let it connect to the PFsense and then run the RSYNC to its sister machine on the inside of the network that has incremental backups on it.

THank you if you want to help.

      Chase

just a suggestion  ..have you tried posting on the FreeNAS forum on how to install a package?

or are you specifically asking how to configure openvpn on FreeNAS?

yea i did post over there but they are more concerned on getting iTunes to work on the thing….  and they really dont have a forum that works put together ( i am not really trying to knock them) i just want this to work thats all.

yea if you know how to get openvpn installed i could do the rest i think, i tryed the make and make install but i dont think that there is a compiler built in to that system.

You're asking in the wrong place for help with installing packages on FreeNAS ;)

You could just install the binary package of OpenVPN - see the FreeBSD documentation.

However, FreeBSD has the binary packages and as FreeNAS is based on FreeBSD you may find that you can install the FreeBSD package.
