Limit inbound connections bandwidth by hostname?
-
Is there anyway to set a bandwidth limit on inbound connections by hostname? I have a port forward allowing only certain hostnames to access my Plex server but I'd like to limit their bandwidth to a max of 8Mbps each.

Put a limiter on the pass rule configured how you want.

Does assigning a limiter on the pass rule apply to each individual connection or to all connections in total that match that rule? So if I have a limiter of 8Mbps and assign it to the pass rule on the WAN, will that limit each individual inbound connection to 8Mbps?

Depends on how you set up the masks in the limiters.
And if this is 2.2.X I'm pretty sure any NAT on the rule breaks the limiters so not sure what you're going to do.

If I choose source address but leave the masks blank, shouldn't that in theory apply the limiter to each individual host?

The source addresses should be the mask on the in queue, dest addresses on the out queue. Yes, that will create a pipe for each outside address using the characteristics you set.
