SG-2440 dies occasionally
-
I have an SG-2440 that dies occasionally (about once a day…). I look at the box and all lights are off. If I pull the AC adapter out from the box (leave it plugged in the wall) and plug it back in, it will boot and work again for about a day. Has anyone else experienced this?
I left a voicemail with pfSense to try and get some support.
Thanks,

Are you able to insert a APC PSU in front of the pfSense?
Is the unit going to hot perhaps? Stands directly in the sunshine or so?
Are the elctric powering at your place it sufficient or breaks it from time to time? -
I have it on an APC UPS in a room with no windows kept at 75 degrees. It has adequate ventilation around it, and has been running in the same location for months. I'm pretty sure it's simply a hardware problem and have contacted pfSense for an RMA.
Thanks,

Just to be clear (I'm sure) you meant 75 degrees Farenheit.
If you meant Celsius, that'll probably void your warranty ;)

Perhaps he meant 75 degrees Kelvin…in which case you'd expect the box to perform wonderfully well.

That would be wonderful, I'd hazard to say that box would be untouchable…..

Okay, to close out this thread (yes Fahrenheit…). The box was RMAed and promptly swapped out for a new one. All is well so far. Great hardware support!
Thanks,
Mike
