I just had to replace my pfSense box because last night the other one took a digger. My problem is I'm attaching it to my network with multiple ip ranges and it's not working right. The odd thing is you can see the console, but can't ping or access anything on the internet. However if I plug a computer directly in it works fine and seems to understand a single system. My network provides dhcp and dns, but even with a static known free ip and dns settings things don't work. I need advice, and I very grateful for your help.

From the pfSense WebGUI, can you ping anything via Diagnostics - Ping?  IOW, is the problem with your LAN or with pfSense itself.  Did you make the common mistake of specifying a gateway for your pfSense LAN interface?
