      Dear all,

My pfSense router will be app. 300 KM far from me. I will access it through VPN channel. My primary VPN channel is OpenVPN. My secondary one (in case there is something wrong with OpenVPN) will be IPSec.

I have configured IPsec in accordance to the documentation. Now I would like to test it from my Windows machine. Could you advise, please, how to connect to pfSense from Windows through IPSec channel?

When I want to get connected, I get a prompt for username and password. However, I have entered none during IPSec 1 and 2 stage configuration. I therefore have no idea what credentials to use. If you know about good tutorial, that would help.

      Thank you many times.

You will need to provide much more information about your IPsec configuration, including which client you used or how you configured the native client.

For Windows 8+, the doc wiki article on using IKEv2 with EAP-MSCHAPv2 is likely the best choice for using IPsec built into Windows. Be sure to follow the setup exactly.
