I'd like to use NUT as a server as well.
I've been trying to get a remote device on the network to access NUT on the firewall, basically using the firewall as the master without any luck. I'm not seeing any denied traffic, not really any traffic in regards to NUT at all. Not that I can see

I've checked the logs on the slave and the server (pfsense) and nothing other than the logs from the slave saying it was unable to connect.

Is is still possible to use NUT on PFSense as a Master?

Yes, of course. You need to set up a NAT rule on the proper interface to redirect the remote NUT to localhost NUT port.

          Thank you!
I never thought of creating a NAT rule to do a redirect. That definitely did the trick.
