  • Because my company need to use dhcp static mappings for 500-600 device. can I use dhcp static mappings for my quantity ?

  • Yes. There aren't any limits there, I've tested up to around 100,000 entries and it works.

    Thanks very much.

  • Woha! How do you go about adding 500+ entries, or heck 100k entries? Is there mass import button I don't see?

    Noop.
But this is yet another reason to learn some basic scripting tool : PHP, bash, perl, or even a Basic variant if you missed the 1980-boat.
    Learn one ….
    Or retype these 100 000 ;)

I guess cmb imported these leases into the config.xml file, the one he 'fed' to pfSense afterwards.
he probably wrote a small script that did the converting.
The format of this file, and thus the details about a DHCP-static-lease in it, is rather simple.

Yep, exactly. A small bit of PHP using our random MAC generation function and incrementing a base IP with ip2long + 1. It was just a scalability test, which doesn't have to match anything real, just have a big populated config.
