      Hi guys,

my up-to-date pfSense appears not to accept a change in WAN interface.

For a long time I had the WAN interface as PPPoE configured with a periodic reset set zo custom daily at 05:45am.

Now we have upgraded our line and it is a cable based where we use DHCP instead. Additionally we got a fixed IP now. So there is no need for a periodic reset of the interface.

And with DHCP configured on the WAN interface there is not even the option available to reset the interface by schedule.

Nevertheless, my pfSense still resets the interfacedaily! See:

/var/log: grep "periodic reset executed on wan" system.log
Sep 24 05:45:00 router2 pppoe0: PPPoE periodic reset executed on wan
Sep 25 05:45:00 router2 pppoe0: PPPoE periodic reset executed on wan
Sep 26 05:45:00 router2 pppoe0: PPPoE periodic reset executed on wan
Sep 27 05:45:00 router2 pppoe0: PPPoE periodic reset executed on wan
Sep 23 05:45:00 router2 pppoe0: PPPoE periodic reset executed on wan

Any clue how to disable this reset? I already switches (without saving) back to PPPoe but the schedule entry appears to be disabled.

I checked /etc/crontab and it appears the entry is still there:

      45      5       *       *       *       root    /var/etc/pppoe_restart_dhcp0

So I removed this entry from crontab but is this the correct way?

Why does is not disable this entry when the WAN type changes?

      Thanks

      /KNEBB
