PfSense syslog to Alienvault USM
-
We are demoing Alienvault's USM trying to decide if this is something we want to deploy. We rely on pfSense firewalls at most of our sites and need to make sure we can get syslog from pfSense into USM.
I have configured one of our pfSense firewalls to send syslog to the USM and it is being recieved, but cannot be processed.
I did some searching and it looks like this is a common complaint/request, but I didn't find anything recent that explained how to get this to work.
Is there anyone out there successfully sending pfSense syslog to Alienvault USM or OSSIM that can give me some pointers or explain what needs to be done?
I've seen references to modifying pfSense to send syslog as a single line, and also seen references to needing to build a parser in USM, but am not sure what exactly needs to be done.
Any help is appreciated.

pfsense has been sending single line syslog for quite some time.. But you would prob need something that parses what pfsense sends in syslog to something USM understands.

Target version set to 2.2This has been implemented on 2.2 for a while now with the new log daemon/format and it is working well.
