I'm about to recommend a Netgate RCC-VE to a customer and am unsure about the storage.  Does the RCC-VE image behave like a nano or a full install with just the 4GB eMMC storage?

If nano-ish, Is the eMMC storage subject to the slow write issue?

Does the behavior change if installed on mSATA?

I'm about to recommend a Netgate RCC-VE to a customer and am unsure about the storage.

        You can go by the;

        • USB Port & Stick with NanoBSD
        • SATA DOM
        • mSATA

If you will prefer to install on a SSD I would recommend to buy the board only, if this option is
there and then go by this case extra for APU and SSD installations. APU case

Does the RCC-VE image behave like a nano or a full install with just the 4GB eMMC storage?

The eMMC storage should be really fine for a full install with many write and read cycles, but without
        installing the Squid!

If nano-ish, Is the eMMC storage subject to the slow write issue?

This is definitely and only for USB Stick installations as I see it right.

Does the behavior change if installed on mSATA?

This is more for a full installation together with squid and squid cache.

Not going to recommend APU to this customer.  RCC-VE 2440.

Yes. I get that. But does the ADI image behave like a nano or a full install?

If nano-ish, Is the eMMC storage subject to the slow write issue?

This is definitely and only for USB Stick installations as I see it right.

The installation process doesn't matter.  It's whether it's nano or full-install.

Does the behavior change if installed on mSATA?

This is more for a full installation together with squid and squid cache.

So if I have an SSD in an RCC-VE should I install the RCC-VE image or the full-install?

I should probably just buy one. Atom 525 getting a little old anyway.

Ahh no, my false, sorry for that!

Yes. I get that. But does the ADI image behave like a nano or a full install?

I you do a full install on the eMMC storage, either the SG units from the pfSense store or
the RCC units from the netgate store, it will be like and work likes a full install on any other
            SSD or HDD.

The installation process doesn't matter.  It's whether it's nano or full-install.

I would even go with a USB pen drive and do then a full install, that is basing on a statement
made from @jimp or @stephenw10 that the eMMC is really ideal for a full install and not the
NANO one that is then after the installation marked as read only, but the eMMC storage is
made for many write and read cycles.

I was searching this thread a while and so I was repeating here a little slower, but I didn´t find the
            thread back.

So if I have an SSD in an RCC-VE should I install the RCC-VE image or the full-install?

The ADI image is prepared and pre fine tuned for the netgate and/or pfSense store units!
So I would go even with them!

The eMMC has a normal full install on it.
