Motherboard choice- Which would you choose?

Hi,
I have been lurking for a bit and have tried out pfsense on some of my older equipment that I had.
I will be purpose building a box for my home network, tight budget.Motherboards I am considering:
Option 1. Asrock N3050M (celeron dual core)

Option 2. Asrock N3150M (celeron quad core)

-add 2 Intel gigabit cards for compatibility/no throughput restrictions (MBs have 3 slots PCIE2 @ x1 mode)
-already have small matx case/power supply/60g ssd drive/ 4gig dual channel memory
-current provider connection 100dn/10up Mbps with option to go up to 400 Mbps connection
-currently using VPN client using OpenVpn getting 85+Mbps
-Both boards/Processors have AES-ni supportRequirements
-Flexibility to run packages (Squid/SquidGuard/Snort/Etc)
-looking 5+years without having to upgrade
-attention to low power consumption**Will the boards meet the requirements?
The 3150 is only about $12 more, will the extra cores help with pfsense?**
Both boards can be purchased for <$100 including the 2 added on NICs
Any other low cost, low power motherboard suggestions?

I don't think difference is that significant. Why don't you go directly for the 4 cores version? I can't see where debate (and questions BTW) is.
You already point what is, to me, the most important aspect, given that you want to run VPN: AES-ni support. -
I'm gonna snag that Asrock N3700m when it becomes available in the US.

Its a mATX - therefore add 10 watts over ITX and add 15 watts over UFFF (NUC, etc.)Wait for comments to clean up on the SuperMicro N3700 Quad intel GigE board - x11SBA-LN4F - look in the forums for N3700, Braswell, or the board referenced. 11 watts. Delta 5year electricity from above will be 10+20 for the expensive intel port card that goes for 150 average = 1,315 kWh or $224.
Electricity $224 + $150 4 port intel discrete = $374 extra cost for this board!!

Celeron 3150 has AES-NI instructions built in. IIRC, I don't think the 3050 does. I would go with the 3150 over the 3050 (if the budget allows it) for future proofing the system.
Edit: I stand corrected…both have AES-NI instructions. I would still get the Quad if the budget allows it, all else being equal.
@rexki - didnt' realize that mATX adds wattage?!? What would be different on those boards that would add wattage over an itx board? I know the added PCIe Intel cards would add power but what else?

Well my first guess would have been instability due to poor power supply but I can't find anything on the one used in that case. If it were me I'd still try to find another suitable power supply to try out and see if that helps.

Jailer, was this in reference to my posting in the other thread (about the SuperMicro N3700 and your question about my power supply) or was your response for this thread? I didn't see a power supply referenced (unless I overlooked it and that wouldn't be the first time I've done that! :P )
