New Setup 2 questions.

I am replacing a Sonicwall NSA-3500 with pfsense 2.24. This is for a small college and dependability is key. I must have content filters, virus blocking, etc. I have installed squid 3, squid guard.
My hardware is all new purchased from Newegg.com. Some might be overkill, but I dont want any complaints about speed.

dvdrwAll works fine without the 4-port nics. It wont let me install because of the buffer error. So I follow the instructions about increasing my buffers to 1,000,000 and the other troublehooting on the intel igb(4). Then it install the card(s) and try to re-assign the cards, and it never shows the cards as being UP. just blank. It does collect the mac address and list all the ports. I just cannot get these to work. I do get the supermicro build in intel nics to work.
2. I keep seeing this on my pfsense screen.

Try a re-installation and then chose full install, for getting a better result.
You might be trying out also the following tunings for your box- enable TRIMM Support fot the SSDs
- highing up the mbufs size to 1.000.000
- Enables PowerD (hi adaptive)
- create a /boot/loader.conf.cocal with all custom made entries to persist updates and upgrades

Try a Zippy Dual ATX Server PSU instead of the single PSU and have a look for an APC USV (Battery driven PSU)
In the BIOS you might be also disable all things you don´t need to come closer to the point of installing the
NIC, by deactivating all other not really urgent needed things in the BIOS. -
Thank you for the help. I will try these things.

ugen0.5: <pixart>at usbus0Hey, not sure if you've been able to fix your issue yet but I've noticed this behavior after I installed a KVM switch and I found that it was the issue. If you are using a KVM, that might be your problem. To me it doesn't affect anything GUI-wise but if you're using the shell it becomes a pain rather quickly. Hope this helps.</pixart></pixart></pixart></pixart>
