Hi guys! Just want to ask a quick question, is it possible to do a full installation of pfsense without a GPU and a serial com port?

    My approach to this is
    1. Install pfSense Full into SSD. (With GPU Installed)
    2. When pfSense is finished installing. Enable SSH (so I can use putty)
    3. Remove GPU
    4. Boot pfSense

Will pfSense boot up if I remove the GPU and don't need to change any settings?
I'm thinking of this build and using amd AM1 processors they only use 25W so its cheap on electricity!  ;D ;D

      • PCIe card with one or two serial ports for ~25 € to 50 €
      • miniPCIe card with two serial com ports for ~50€ to 60 €
      • USB to Serial adapter + null modem cable for ~6 € to 25 €
      • Dual USB Serial Adapter FTDI 2-Port RS-232 as an external box for ~40 €

      Alternatively

      • USB Bluetooth adapter pair with serial function if it runs on pfSense.
        Example

So there will be more than one option to realize this and go by the serial console installation
a pfSense without GPU is not the problem but without any serial com port it would be a pain
if something goes wrong, and trust me in the first time or at the beginning it will be even
      going something wrong.

Would you tell us the exactly name of the mainboard please?

AMD AM1 processors all have GPU built in as far as I know.  No need to install or remove a GPU, no?

oh! Thats good to hear, honestly its my first time hearing that theres a pcie to serial card  ;D ;D

Just curious, if I'm done installing the pfsense with the pcie serial card, can I remove the pcie serial card or It won't boot?

The board is GIGABYTE GA-AM1M-S2H. Thank you sir for the speedy reply!  :-*

I will try this too so that the cost of my build will go down! Thank you!  :D :D

              ::)
There is a so called serial com port and you will only need a null modem cable for ~$6.00
or you might be using the USB Ports by taking a serial to USB adapter for ~$10.00 - $25.00  ;)
